Kamala Harris and Donald Trump both held rallies yesterday in the key battleground state of North Carolina, hoping to win the support of undecided voters.
At her rally in Charlotte, Harris began by criticizing Donald Trump.
“This person is unstable and increasingly unstable,” she said.
If Trump becomes president, he will focus on his “enemy list”, Harris said. “Unlike Donald Trump, I don't believe that people who disagree with me are my enemies,” he said.
“He wants to put people in jail, and I plan to sit down with him. That's what a real leader should do,” she added.
Harris said that if she wins the presidential election, she will start working on her “to-do list,” which includes tax cuts for more than 100 million Americans, a federal ban on fixing the price of food for big companies and making sure that Americans can afford a place to live.
“At the top of my to-do list is reducing the price of essentials,” she added. On the war in Gaza, Harris said “we all want the war in the Middle East to stop” and “to bring the prisoners back to their homes”.
The vice president added that if she wins the presidential election, “I will do everything I can to bring fruit to these issues.”
Abortion rights were also discussed. She told the crowd that the election was a “fundamental fight for freedom” for women to “have the right to make decisions about their own bodies”.
