Qualifying in São Paulo had to be postponed from Saturday to Sunday morning due to bad weather and the rain again caused a lot of excitement during the session. Five drivers ended up in the barriers. Alex Albon’s car was particularly damaged.
The Williams driver, who qualified in seventh place, will therefore not be able to take part in the 21st race of the season. His teammate Franco Colapinto was luckier, as the team announced that his racer was able to be repaired in time for the start of the race.
Carlos Sainz has to drive out of the pit lane because the racing team from Maranello had to replace the drive unit and gearbox in the Spaniard’s company car after his departure.
