1 Execrable performance (or expulsion)

Gauthier Larsonneur (6) : Gauthier Larsonneur reassured himself in goal against Strasbourg, making some well-thought-out saves. Although not very decisive, they were enough, Strasbourg not having shown great offensive efficiency. However, the Saint-Etienne goalkeeper will have to take care of his raises, which still have room for improvement.

Leo Petrot (6) : Léo Pétrot did not disappoint, always so generous in the effort and involved. He contained the Strasbourg attacks while planning offensively. On the second goal, his deflected cross allowed Sissoko to score from close range. Certainly, he is not the best full-back in , but he shows self-sacrifice, courage, and generosity.

Yvann Maçon (5) : The return of Yvann Maçon stabilized the defense, despite a difficult evening against his Strasbourg counterpart. Absent for several weeks, he only lasted 60 minutes. Although there is still room for improvement, his rise in power is expected, and he tried to contribute offensively, but we sense a lack of liveliness in his defensive support.

Dylan Batubinsika (6) : Batubinsika showed a completely different face compared to his entry against . Placed in a better mental state, he delivered a solid performance alongside Mickaël Nadé. He was sometimes put in difficulty by the constant movement of the Alsatian attackers, but his game remained clean and diligent.

Mickaël Nadé (6) : Alongside a more solid defensive partner than Abdelhamid, Nadé showed a new quality of play. He knew how to project himself offensively, particularly on set pieces. He scored from a corner at the far post, providing an important goal for Saint-Étienne. A successful performance which should strengthen his confidence and anchor the Batubinsika-Nadé duo in defense.

Pierre Ekwah (7) : In a more defensive role, Ekwah showed his ability to evolve between central defense and midfield, in a hybrid role desired by Olivier Dall'Oglio to counter Strasbourg. Active and efficient, Ekwah has found a position that seems to suit him as much as it suits the team.

Louis Mouton (6) : Louis Mouton continues to amaze with his nerve and the quality of his passes. His impact is undeniable, contributing to Saint-Etienne's control in the middle. With his long shots, he could soon score his first goal. Its current dynamic stabilizes the ASSE midfield.

Augustine Boakye (5) : Less visible last night, Boakye failed to make the difference on his right side. However, he participated in offensive and defensive efforts, notably supporting Maçon when he was in difficulty.

Lucas Stassin (5) : Although he did not score, Stassin continued to be useful by facilitating his teammates' goals. After winning a penalty last week and making an assist against , he deflected a headed ball for Mickaël Nadé, who scored the Greens' first goal. His movement and ability to keep the ball are valuable, even if a more goal-facing orientation could allow him to unlock his counter.

Zuriko Davitashvili (5) : The Saint-Etienne playmaker did not score, which remains unusual. He still created a few chances and destabilized the Strasbourg defense at times, but he was less visible due to Strasbourg's domination.

Player of the match

Benjamin Bouchouari (7) : Relegated to the bench last season and criticized for his lack of defensive rigor, Benjamin Bouchouari was able to reverse the trend. His technical mastery and ball handling were valuable, and his defensive work was much more effective. Established for the second consecutive time, Bouchouari seems to have taken on a new dimension, which could bring a lot to the team if he maintains this dynamic.

The ASSE coach

Olivier Dall'Oglio (7) : Last week, Dall'Oglio renewed the Nadé-Abdelhamid pair in central defense, a choice criticized. This time, he opted for the Batubinsika-Nadé duo, thus strengthening defensive stability and allowing Saint-Étienne to keep a clean sheet. By also reinstating the midfielder duo aligned at Angers, he made courageous decisions which bore fruit. The Saint-Etienne coach was once again able to react to preserve his position. A draw, or even a victory in the next derby, would allow them to reach the objective of 4 points in the 3 matches between the international breaks.
