The footballer, who has many acquaintances in Valencia, expressed his emotion after the match. He also felt that the match against Liganes should not have been played.
Girona player Miguel Gutierrez appeared very emotional this Saturday at a post-match press conference. His team had just won the match against Liganes (4-3) and he played an important role, but his emotion was linked to the distress of someone close to him. He actually had particular attention to his friend Henry, reports the Relevo site.
During the celebration of his goal, Miguel revealed a white jersey with an inscription in support of one of his close friends and the victims of Valencia. His very close friend Henry has no more news of his mother who was swept away by the current in the terrible floods of Valencia and her body has not yet been found. Every minute counts and the more time is running out to have a chance of finding her alive.
The footballer explained why the tragedy particularly affected him: “Apart from Madrid, the second city where I have the most relatives is Valencia. I have watched videos and made video calls with friends, and I can assure you that it is a real disaster, a real madness.” The player appeared very affected and had tears in his eyes. “I get goosebumps just remembering everything I saw. Honestly, any help they get is minimal”he reacted.
