Bayern Munich is still unbeaten in the Bundesliga after 9 games. The record champions had no problems in the 3-0 home win against Union Berlin and achieved their 7th win of the season. The man of the match was once again Harry Kane. The English star striker gave Munich the lead with a penalty (15th), started the 2-0 perfectly through Kingsley Coman (43rd) and increased it to 3-0 after 51 minutes.
This means Kane already has 11 goals this season. Since moving from Tottenham to Munich in the summer of 2023, the 31-year-old has scored 47 times in 41 Bundesliga games.
BVB turns game against Leipzig
After three competitive defeats in the Champions League, the Bundesliga and the DFB Cup, Borussia Dortmund found its way back to victory against the still unbeaten Leipzig. BVB (without the ailing goalie Gregor Kobel) beat the “Bulls” 2-1 despite being 0-1 behind.
Maximilian Beier following a corner kick (30th) and goal getter Serhou Guirassy with a header (65th) turned the game around with their goals. The victory is particularly good for coach Nuri Sahin, who has recently come under heavy criticism. Due to their first defeat of the season, Leipzig is now 3 points behind Bayern.
Shooting festival in Frankfurt
The fans in Frankfurt saw an unusual series of goals. Eintracht shot bottom team Bochum out of the stadium 7-2. No fewer than 6 different players scored for Frankfurt. The Frenchman Hugo Ekitiké was the only double goalscorer.
After 20 minutes Eintracht were already leading 3-0 and after 32 minutes they were already 4-0. Thanks to goals in the 35th and 51st minutes, Bochum was able to reduce the score to 2:4. But Frankfurt made things crystal clear with 3 goals within 8 minutes (61st-69th). The balance sheet of Murat Ural and Markus Feldhoff, who are in charge of VfL Bochum on an interim basis after the dismissal of Peter Zeidler, reads disastrous after two games: 0 points and 2:12 goals.
