On the night of November 1, Rillieux-la-Pape was once again the scene of urban violence. Around fifteen individuals stoned a bus before setting it on fire. A building had to be evacuated as a precaution.

Charred buses, in the city center, Saturday November 2. After numerous incidents in the Velette district, Rillieux-la-Pape (Rhône) discovers the scars of a night of violence. It was 9 p.m. on Friday, November 1, when around fifteen masked individuals stopped two buses and disembarked the passengers before setting the vehicles on fire. At 11 p.m., while the buses continued to burn, residents were urgently evacuated. A police officer was slightly injured in the face.

Rillieux-la-Pape is experiencing its second consecutive night prey to urban violence. “Nothing justifies such violence”denounces Alexandre Vincendet, mayor of Rillieux-la-Pape. “Investigative means have been put in place to find them”indicates Juliette Bossart-Trignat, delegated prefect for defense and security of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Nearly 60 additional police officers will be mobilized in the evening to avoid further clashes.
