The final minutes of the match between Minnesota and Denver, a remake of the 2024 West semi-final, were intense and gripping to say the least. As we told you this morning in the CQFR, Rudy Gobert was decisive in allowing the Timberwolves to win. First by making his two shots with 10 seconds left to give his team a three-point lead, then by defending as well as possible to force Nikola Jokic to take a very complicated shot.
However, what is a bit talked about after this great success for Chris Finch's men is the altercation between Rudy and Christian Brauna few minutes before the two clutch actions of the Blues pivot.
After slamming a big dunk on Rudy Gobert's nose, Braun went into contact to celebrate and boast under the Frenchman's nose. A demonstration not really to Rudy's taste, who grabbed his young opponent around the neck to get him out of the way.
Both players received a technical foul and the match was able to resume, although Nuggets fans demanded a harsher penalty for Rudy. Fortunately for the Wolves, the referees judged, after using the video, that there was no reason to increase the sanction and the former Jazz interior was able to be decisive in the last moments of the match.
CQFR: Gobert decisive against Jokic in the shock of the night
