On average, people paid around €4 for a mulled wine at German Christmas markets last year. However, at the four Christmas markets planned by ALDI SÜD (sorry to everyone north of the Aldi equator) in Cologne, Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt, only one euro will be charged. The company announced this in a press release.
The Christmas markets will take place in the parking lots of the selected branches and will be open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. These are the exact dates:
-
12th-14th November, Grüner Weg 2 in Cologne Ehrenfeld
-
12th-14th November, Zielstattstraße 73 in Munich
-
19-21 November, Hanauer Landstrasse 283 in Frankfurt am Main
-
19.-21. November, Deckerstraße 75 in Stuttgart
Last year there was already an ALDI Christmas market where mulled wine and food were offered at reasonable prices. Due to its success, it was announced this year that the concept would be expanded. In addition to the mulled wine for one euro (also non-alcoholic), there will be bratwurst (and a vegetarian version) for two euros, bags of cookies for one euro and crepes for two euros. To create a Christmas market atmosphere, there will also be a children’s carousel and hourly carol singing.
By the way: The campaign is also intended to do good; according to the press release, 100% of the proceeds will be donated.
