At the NRJ Music Awards 2024, Santa ignites (literally) the Palais des Festivals in Cannes

MUSIC – This is called setting a fire. The singer Santa performed her song Start me again at the Palais des Congrès et des Festivals de Cannes this Friday November 1st for the 26th NRJ Music Awards. As usual, the singer delivered an extraordinary performance, not hesitating to literally set the scene on fire.

After a short introductory sketch with actor Arnaud Ducret, Santa appeared on the roof of the palace, dressed in knightly armor, an outfit reminiscent of that often worn on stage by a certain Chappell Roan, nominated this year in the International Revelation category.

With a torch, Santa ignited the roof of the building, then dashed towards the red carpet. She landed in the middle of a dozen dancers dressed as gladiators. The red carpet then burst into flames, before the singer took the steps one step at a time to enter the Palais des Festivals and joined the stage to finish her song.

This is not the first time that Santa has delivered a surprising show at the NRJ Music Awards. Last year during the 25th edition, she performed her song Popcorn Salé outside, on the piano, suspended in the air several meters from the ground. Since then, the singer has been almost everywhere. His song Start me again was even chosen to become the anthem of the new season of Star Academy.

Santa is nominated in the Song of the Year category, alongside Slimane, Louane, Pierre Garnier and Amir, and she was the first of them to go on stage to perform her title in front of the spectators gathered at the palace festivals, viewers. A prize that will only be awarded at the very end of the evening.
