While in the City and its surroundings there are days with summer temperatures, in the center and north of the country bad weather persists. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued a series of yellow and orange alerts for strong storms and hail for eleven provinces.
The organization reported that it governs a yellow alert for areas of Saint Louis, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Chaco, Formosa, Santiago del Estero, Currents, Salta, Jujuy, Tucuman y Catamarca.
While the alert rose to level orange in the territory of Santiago del Esteroalmost everything Chacoon Jujuycenter of Salta and almost everything Tucuman.
Yellow and orange alert for storms
According to the SMN report, in the alert areas yellow“the area will be affected by storms of varying intensitysome locally strong and it is expected that they will be accompanied by intense electrical activity, occasional hail, strong gusts and abundant falls of water in short periods”.
Accumulated precipitation values are estimated between 30 and 60 mmand can be overcome locally.
Meanwhile, for regions with orange alertthe agency reported that “the area will be affected by locally strong or severe storms. They may be accompanied by intense gusts that can exceed 90 km/h, significant electrical activity, hail falls and mainly abundant falls of water in short periods”.
In this case, accumulated precipitation values are estimated between 60 and 100 mm, which may be exceeded occasionally.
