“In shape”, and at “work”. Michel Barnier seems to be doing better after his operation for a cervical lesion last weekend. This Thursday, October 31, 2024, the Prime Minister resumed his official activities, during the Council of Ministers at the Élysée.

In her report, government spokesperson Maud Bregeon assured that he was “in good shape”.

He was obviously with us this morning. There you go, he is in good shape, at work after two to three days of rest which was necessary and normal, like any citizen who has been hospitalized.

A large dressing in recent days

Michel Barnier, 73, “was operated on this weekend for a cervical lesion, the results of the analysis of which will be known within a few weeks,” Matignon announced on Monday.

As of Monday, he had resumed several meetings at Matignon on Monday. He had nevertheless missed the Questions to the Government sessions.

On Tuesday, several of his interlocutors reported that he was wearing a large bandage on part of his neck, which prevented him from closing his shirt collar and wearing a tie.
