Liam Neeson is seeing the end of the road, starring in action films, and the time seems to be coming soon.

In a new interview, Neeson talks about his age and considers when he should stop taking on physically demanding roles.

“I’m 72 — it has to stop at some stage,” Neeson told People.

The Taken actor continues to perform his own fight scenes, with Mark Vanselow taking on the more demanding stunts.

“You can’t fool audiences. I don’t want Mark to be fighting my fight scenes for me,” he added.

Neeson hasn’t set a time to stop making action movies but noted that it could be sometime in 2025.

“Maybe the end of next year. I think that’s it,” he said.

Neeson’s next film, Absolution, will hit theaters on November 1. It revolves around an aging gangster who attempts to reconnect with his children and amend past mistakes. The actor also recently wrapped filming a reboot of the police comedy The Naked Gun.

Earlier this year, Deadline reported that Neeson would star in a cross-country car chase movie, The Mongoose. The Prime Video film stars Neeson as Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a war hero who, accused of a crime he didn’t commit and with nothing to lose, leads police on an epic televised cross-country car chase, helped by members of his former Special Forces Army battalion and closely monitored by a fascinated public rooting for his safe getaway.

Neeson’s longtime collaborator Mark Vanselow is set to direct the film.
