“Paris was an incredible emotion. Not so much for the result, an Olympic medal that not everyone has but which is not what I would have hoped to achieve, but because I carry with me an important emotion. I understood what it means to help each other and be team, which for us who play an individual sport is not a given.” These are the words of Tommaso Marini, Italian fencer and silver medalist in the men’s team foil at the 2024 Paris Olympics, on the sidelines of the second edition of the “Marche a podium region” event hosted at the CONI Hall of Honor in Rome . Regarding the future, the Italian foil player admits that he still doesn’t want to think about the next big commitment like the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, preferring to enjoy relaxation: “I don’t think about it, I want to enjoy this moment of pause.
I don’t feel like thinking about it, I wouldn’t want to make this mistake”, he concludes.
