Leicester responded in the second half. Facundo Buonanotte made it 2-1 in the 64th minute after connecting with a cross from Abdul Fatawu. The game shifted dramatically when Ryan Fraser was sent off in the 73rd minute following a VAR review for a foul inside the box. Jamie Vardy converted the resulting penalty to make it 2-2, giving Leicester momentum.

In stoppage time, Ghana’s Jordan Ayew completed the comeback with a low shot in the 98th minute, securing a thrilling 3-2 victory for Leicester. The win extended Southampton’s winless run in the Premier League to 21 matches, a streak that began before their relegation in the 2022/23 season.

Despite the defeat, Aribo and Onuachu will take positives from their performances, while Ndidi’s solid display for Leicester helped his team climb up the Premier League table.
