FFR elections – Florian Grill: the underside of a landslide victory

If Florian Grill and his running mate crushed the electoral vote with 67.22% of the votes, it is probably the result of a vigorous electoral campaign…

In Marcoussis, the independent company Voxaly announced this Saturday noon that Florian Grill, the president in place since June 2023, had just been re-elected with 67.22% of the votes by the 1900 clubs which make up the base of French rugby. As a reminder, they were called to express themselves from Friday October 18 (from 8 a.m.), until the close of the poll, which took place today at noon. 85% of clubs expressed their support, which is a real electoral success. Florian Grill’s overwhelming victory can be explained in part by the pace set in the campaign by him and his teammates from the Ovale Ensemble collective, who plowed the territory in order to meet the clubs and try to respond to their various issues.

In front of Florian Grill, a four-year project

Thanks to this new victory at the polls, the second in a little over a year, the former president of the Ile de League Florian Grill (60 years old) therefore consolidates his power and now benefits from four full years to develop the strong axes of its project: the reform of training allowances intended to reward “nursery” clubs, the strengthening of the territorial network or the ambitious deployment of CTA (territorial administrative advisors), a measure supposed to relieve the particularly heavy daily life club presidents, in terms of administrative formalities.

Over the past few weeks, we have published two consultations with amateur clubs in Midi Olympique: these had always given the outgoing president the lead. The first consultation, carried out on September 16, 2024, therefore offered 64% of the votes of the 340 clubs surveyed to the founder of the Ovale Ensemble collective Florian Grill, compared to 36% to the former three-quarter center of the XV of France Didier Codorniou. Three weeks later, the second consultation had only reinforced the domination of the president in place.
