The president of the National Rally, Jordan Bardella, will go this Saturday, October 19 from 11 a.m. to the Poussay fair in the Vosges. This is the third time that the MEP has made the trip to this friendly event. A stroll through the fair stands is planned until midday. Each year, nearly 1,200 exhibitors meet at this agricultural fair. The origins of this fair date back to the 16th century.

On Sunday, another political figure will go to the Poussay fair: Sarah Knafo. The MEP aims to meet farmers this time to reflect “what we can do concretely for them in the European Parliament” she wrote on her X account.

The presentation of the Samuel Paty prize at the Sorbonne University will take place this Saturday, October 19, a little more than four years after the professor’s assassination. The Samuel Paty prize aims to reward class projects centered on “democratic principles and values”. This project was launched in 2021 by the Association of History and Geography Teachers. Faced with competition from Parisian and private high schools, students from the Choiseul high school () and the Pasteur Lamartine high school () will be awarded this famous prize.

Sunday October 20 will take place the 83rd ceremony of tribute to those shot at Châteaubriant (-Atlantique) where 27 hostages were murdered on October 22, 1941 on the orders of Adolf Hitler. These people were assassinated in retaliation for the death of Feldkommandant Karl Hotz, killed two days earlier by young French resistance fighters. The general secretary of the CGT, Sophie Binet, will be present during this ceremony. She will speak around 3:30 p.m.
