IND vs NZ, 1st Test: India’s star batter Sarfaraz Khan played a brilliant ramp shot in New Zealand’s William O’Rourke over on the third day of the series opener against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. After suffering a batting collapse during the first innings, they bounced back brilliantly during the second innings and his ramp shot was proof of their style of play.

After Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s unfortunate dismissal, Sarfaraz came into bat. Although five Indian batters got out for a duck during the first innings, Sarafarz came into the second with a clear mind. During the 27th over, O’Rourke bowled a brilliant bouncer, which Sarfaraz played even better as he smashed a beautiful ramp shot. The India fans started celebrating as the ball went towards the boundary.

His aggressive approach approach worked in his favor as he brought up his half-century off 42 balls and it was also his fourth in the longest format. His brilliant strokeplay along with Kohli’s quickfire knock uplifted the mood of the India fans. They helped the team bounce back by building a steady partnership.

This match just proved Sarfaraz’s growing image in the longest format. Ever since he made his debut against the Ben Stokes-led side earlier this year, he has been performing consistently well. His playing that ramp shot not just showed his batting prowess but also his ability to perform brilliantly under pressure situations.

As far as the match is concerned, the Rohit Sharma-led side will depend on the partnership built between Kohli and Sarfaraz as it will help them to bounce back in what has been a challenging match. With both batters looking in sublime form, the fans would hope that the team will bounce back.
