The body of Lina, 15, was discovered on Wednesday October 16 near (Nièvre).

The teenager disappeared on September 23 in Bas-Rhin, where she lived.

The girl’s parents expressed their “immense pain” on Wednesday evening.

More than a year after Lina’s disappearance and three months after the main suspect in her kidnapping, Samuel Gonin, committed suicide, this case experienced a tragic epilogue on Wednesday, October 16. Around 6 p.m., the acting public prosecutor of , Alexandre Chevrier, announced in a short press release that the lifeless body of the young girl had been found “in a wooded and isolated area in the Nevers region in Nièvre” and that it was, at the time of its discovery, “immersed in a stream below an embankment“. A place located nearly 500 kilometers from the Chemin du Bas-Rhin where Lina was last seen.

Shortly after this sad revelation, Lina’s parents expressed their feelings, through their lawyers. “Their pain is immense”, write Me Marylène Correia and Me Matthieu Airoldi, lawyers for Lina’s father and mother respectively, in a brief press release. “Before giving way to contemplation, (the parents) remain awaiting the reports of the experts dispatched to the site of the discovery“, they add.

On the day of Lina’s disappearance, September 23, 2023, her cell phone stopped working exactly at 11:22 a.m. on September 23, 2023, while she was walking to the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche station (Bas). -Rhine) along a small road, to take a train and join her boyfriend in Strasbourg.
