En walking towards the rural commune of Ittre to discover a piece entitled Sunflowerswe might naively believe that we are preparing for an evening bathed in light. However, Fabrice Melquiot’s piece does not really tend towards the promises of sunshine of this bright and nourishing flower. Let’s say that it leads us rather towards the Sunflowers by Van Gogh, those who have had their stem brutally cut and find themselves squeezed into a bouquet in a vase, on the verge of bowing their heads and slowly withering away.
