The new edition of the Star Academy is synonymous with change, particularly at the faculty level. But who is Hugues Hamelynck, the new theater teacher?
The launch of the Star Academyit’s now! Viewers will be able to discover, this Saturday October 12, 2024, at 9:10 p.m., on TF1this new class of 2024, just like the new teachers who will be present at the Château de Dammarie-les-Lys. Hugues Hamelynck is therefore part of this new faculty. Straight from Belgium, he takes over from Pierre de Brauer. And the least we can say is that Hugues Hamelynck’s CV is particularly well-filled. Actor, director, producer, radio host, TV presenter: his activities are numerous. Nevertheless, the artist decided to abandon everything, to join the management team of the Star Academy. He explains:
“It’s an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. It’s an important exhibition, an opportunity to share my passion with as many people as possible, and an incredible professional experience.”.
Despite the challenges, Hugues Hamelynck approaches this new experience in a relaxed manner:
“The preparation is the thirty years of improvisation and the twenty years of theater that I have behind me. I think the skills I have and the experience work in my favor”.
In addition, the new theater teacher of the Star Academy intends to help students overcome their blockages:
“In a singing competition, theater work must allow them to work on incarnation. Singing a song is telling a story, sometimes it’s playing a role”.
He adds:
“You have to find the balance between the sincerity of their emotions and their ability to come out of themselves. To understand the scene, it’s an additional string to their bow”.
Very nice promises!
A different energy
The objective of this 2024 edition of the Star Academy is to produce energy “different”. It is true that the excitement around the previous season was phenomenal. Indeed, the casting was the result of very strong personalities, such as Pierre Garnier, Héléna Bailly, Julien Lieb, and Axel Marbeuf. This year, the production has chosen to focus on a young cast, since the oldest student is 24 years old. But one thing is certain, the arrival of Hugues Hamelynck in the teaching staff risks sparks!
