To everyone’s surprise, Wednesday morning, the La France insoumise (LFI) deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis Aurélie Trouvé was elected president of the economic affairs committee. She thus succeeds the Macronist Antoine Armand, who became Minister of the Economy and Finance under Michel Barnier. The former co-president of the alter-globalization NGO Attac, very close to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, said she « honored » to lead this commission « extremely important, which manages agricultural, housing, business, tourism, social and solidarity economy issues ». All smiles, Aurélie Trouvé hastened to declare to the press that her election « proves that the New Popular Front can have majorities in this Assembly ».
