Frenchman Christophe Laporte won the 118th edition of Paris-Tours this Sunday in particularly difficult conditions. After a race marked by rain and muddy vineyard paths, the rider from Team Visma-Lease a Bike sprinted past a group of pursuers reduced to the essentials, himself ahead of the Czech Mathias Vacek.

Laporte, already a bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, achieved a prestigious victory, ending a drought of more than a year. His power and experience were decisive in winning this demanding course.

The event was lively from the first kilometers by a breakaway of four riders, quickly reduced to three then to two with the entry of Laporte and Vacek. The duo resisted the onslaught of the peloton, despite the efforts of riders like Mads Pedersen and Jasper Philipsen.

This victory rewards the consistency of Laporte, who asserts himself as one of the great classics riders in the peloton.
