This Sunday, the Union traveled to Bruges in a top match. Both teams were looking for a victory to relaunch themselves in the championship, but it was not to be. After a poor first half, the two teams returned to the locker room with a score of 0-0 even if Skoras missed the inevitable shortly before the half-hour mark.
Upon returning from the locker room, the match gained pace and intensity. Club Brugge has also created several big possibilities. Burgess (50th) and Moris (51st) also saved the Union. However, it was the Saint-Gillois who opened the scoring in the 52nd minute with a superb individual action from Ivanovic. Club Brugge then pushed to come back and succeeded 9 minutes from time. Mechele clipped a Jashari corner at the near post to restore the tie. The people of Bruges continued to push to force the decision but without success.
This sharing is really no one’s business. The Union remains stuck in 10th place with 14 units. FC Bruges enters the top 6 but only has one more unit.
Highlights of the meeting:
After 8 minutes of play, Romero truly offered the Unionists the first big chance of the match. On a very bad back pass from the Bruges defender, Fuseini grabbed the ball and headed towards goal but Mignolet came out perfectly.
What a failure from Skoras after 26 minutes of play. Vanaken alerted Tzolis who then found Jashari in depth. The latter centered towards Skoras in the small rectangle. He just had to push the ball into the back of the net but the Pole completely missed his shot which went wide of the target.
Another great possibility for Bruges just before half-time. Tzolis played with the Unionist defense on the left flank before sending in a cross. He found Vanaken at the far post, but Moris intervened perfectly on the Belgian’s volley.
5 minutes after returning from the locker room, on a chance ball, Moris completely missed his exit and released the ball. Tzolis then grabbed the leather and attempted a little dive towards the empty goalkeeper goal. Burgess then headed the ball off the line. The latter returned to the feet of Skoras who struck in turn. This time it was Mac Allister who saved the ball on the line. What a double possibility for the Blauw en Zwart.

Another very big opportunity for Club Brugge 15 minutes from time. Tzolis received a superb cross from the left flank. The Greek threw himself to catch the ball, the leather just missed. 6 minutes later, Mechele cut a corner from Jashari at the near post to tie the two teams (1-1).
