renewed mobilization for Pink October

For the third year in a row, the town of Saint-Julien-de-Lampon is mobilizing for the Pink October campaign, dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer screening.

In partnership with the local association Arts, well-being and creations (ABC 24), and with the support of the town hall, volunteers compete in creativity to beautify the village, offering a unique decoration each year.

Chantal Laville, assistant to the mayor, very committed to this cause, reveals the program of the festivities. “Saturday October 5, we are organizing three hikes: one of approximately 4 km, a second of 6 km and a third of approximately 9 km. The meeting is set for 9 a.m. at the village hall. A contribution of 5 euros per person will be requested, and please note that it is free for children. At 11:30 a.m., a snack and entertainment will be offered. »

The elected official adds: “Every Thursday in October, market day, a stand specially dedicated to Pink October will welcome the public. You can find sweet and savory pastries, hot drinks, honey, t-shirts, etc. there. The funds collected will be entirely donated to the Dordogne Women’s Committee at the beginning of November. »

Help from an artist

In addition to the participants and donors, Chantal Laville would also like to salute the artist Katia Even, resident of the neighboring town of Sainte-Mondane: “Katia, a renowned designer, generously offered us her time and her talent to draw female characters linked to the cause. These symbolic illustrations allow us to make personalized T-shirts and banners. »

This mobilization demonstrates the strong and united commitment of Saint-Julien-de-Lampon in the fight against breast cancer.
