Pink October is a month of awareness about the most common and deadliest cancer among women. 1 in 8 women risk being affected by this cancer and 58,500 new cancers are diagnosed in France each year. If cancer is detected early, the chances of cure are significant and 87% of patients are alive 5 years after diagnosis.

Like every year, the City of L’Aigle (Orne) supports the operation to highlight this cause and relays the actions implemented in the region.

The objective is simple, unite and bring together the structures organizing events in order to make the message resonate and raise awareness among the population as best as possible.

New actions with committed actors

On this occasion, recurring actions will be present, such as the pink march of the Pink Sisters which takes on a new dimension, the pink balls of the Aiglon Tennis Club or the initiatives of Bohin France. In this continuity, numerous new actions carried out by committed actors are born for this 2024 edition.

A set of motivated, invested and mobilized partners throughout the month of October so that the message, the calls for screenings resonate and more generally intensify awareness.

Pink Tuesdays at Bohin
Every Tuesday in October, for any purchase of an entry pass to the Bohin workshops, 2 euros will be donated to the Interdisciplinary Department of Supportive Care for Oncology (DISSPO) of the François Baclesse center.
Special open table October pink let’s sew for people undergoing treatment.
Bohin opens its space to allow you to come alone or accompanied to sew projects dedicated to the cause, such as drain bags, heart cushions, turbans, and much more. Free.

Information and awareness workshop on breast cancer screening led by La Ligue contre le Cancer. Prevention of risk factors that can promote breast cancer, discussion on self-examination with the bust – Quiz, the Fighters Tree, photo language, information leaflets, self-examination bust. The Pink Day, marche rose
• 7 km course organized by The Pink Sisters in support of the fight against breast cancer, Saturday October 12, departure at 10 a.m. Meet at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Michaux room, Grû site in L’Aigle. • Baton Twirling Club demonstration Saturday October 12 at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Grû site in L’Aigle.
• Production of a broadcast on Saturday October 12 at the Michaux room, live on the “Twitch” streaming platform during the walk where the Media Center of the local Mission will receive the partners mobilized for this occasion. The Aigle Insertion workshop
• Create a special collection. Creation of accessories in pink fabric, symbol of the fight against breast cancer. Items could be sold in the store or online.
• Offer sewing kits. Partnership with Bohin France to offer sewing kits containing all the materials necessary to create the embroidery of the pink ribbon. The kits will be sold in the store or online.
• Decorate the store. Decorating the store in Pink October colors to attract the attention of passers-by and encourage them to enter the store and support the campaign.
Part of the profits made will be donated to Pink Sisters.

Theater internship
The Voice of Women in Literature. This theater workshop will explore women’s voice through literature, highlighting the diversity of their experiences, ages and origins. How do women tell their stories? How do they speak about themselves?
The restitution at the end of the week will allow us to present the work carried out (with the desire and hope that the men will be involved!)
At the end of the presentation, funds will be collected and then donated to the league against cancer.

Hiking
Enjoy a moment of discovery of nature by taking the hiking trails from the city center to the Chapelle de la Place (6.6 km route). Collection for the benefit of the League Against Cancer.

Intergenerational entertainment around tennis with surprise doubles, surprise mixed doubles. A radar will measure the speed of your service.
