Four Malagasy tennis hopefuls (two girls and two boys) qualified for the semi-finals of the ITF junior tournament in Antananarivo. These four meetings are scheduled for this Friday, September 27, 2024. The final will be played on Sunday. The players from the Big Island, without being the highest ranked, have a card to play. They are at home and on clay.
Like every year, the ITF junior circuit organizes tournaments in the Indian Ocean. After Mauritius and before Reunion Island, it is in Madagascar that the champions have been competing since the start of the week. This Friday, four young tennis hopefuls from the Big Island will try to qualify for the girls’ and boys’ singles finals.
For girls:
The first semi-final will pit the South African, Roxy Bredenkamp (533) against the Malagasy, Mitia Martinez (4073).
In the second Lea Dube (1048) will face Elisoa Adriantefihasana (1178).
For boys:
The Malagasy player, seed number 1, Mirija Andriantefihasina (647) will face the Indian, Ronit Gupta (1176).
Mahefa Rakotomalala also from the Big Island (1093) will challenge the South African, Cuan Western.
After Mauritius and Madagascar, the hopes of world tennis will have a new chance to shine in Reunion. The tournament will begin on October 14, 2024 on the hard courts of the Tennis Club de la Baie de Saint-Paul (TCBSP). The finals are scheduled for Sunday October 20, 2024.
