The liter of unleaded will cost 6 euro cents less, that of diesel 7 cents less. The prefecture announced this Friday, September 27, a significant drop in fuel prices from October 1.
Good news for household wallets. Fuel prices in Reunion Island continue the decline that began last September and are experiencing a significant drop.
The reason for this significant drop in pump prices is an average oil price which has reached a level not seen since 2022.
The global supply being much greater than had been envisaged, demand weakening after the summer period, and transactions being driven by a weakening of the dollar.
From October 1, the liter of unleaded therefore loses 6 euro cents, it will therefore cost 1.58 euros, compared to 1.64 euros in September.
For diesel, the price of a liter decreases by 7 cents, from 1.29 euros in September to 1.22 euros in October.
The effort on the price of the gas bottle is maintained thanks to the help of the communities. The 12.5 kg bottle is therefore still displayed at 15 euros.
