However, this same Métropole de Lyon had increased the amount of the flat-rate reimbursement in 2023, going from 17.50 euros to 20 euros.
But she realized she was paying way more than was typically spent.
-In 2023, 15,769 meals were reimbursed for professional travel linked to the missions of its agents. And by carrying out a sampling of 2,855 meals, the community discovered that the average cost of meals was 12.08 euros…
Whether the agent only ate a sandwich or had dessert 3 times, he was always reimbursed 20 euros.
The metropolitan councilors will therefore vote this Monday, so that the agents of the Metropolis are placed in the same boat as in the private sector. From March 1, 2025, to be reimbursed for their meals taken outside as part of a trip, they will have to provide proof of payment, as well as the mission order to also prove that the chosen catering location was consistent.
Based on the 15,769 meals reimbursed in 2023 and the average differences between actual costs and systematic costs, the Métropole de Lyon aims to make more than 125,500 euros in savings per year.
