Australian Open > Arthur Fils, after his retirement against Ugo Humbert: “It's pretty crazy. We have to find a solution. I can't say much…”

In comments reported by The Team after his retirement against Ugo Humbert in the third round of the Australian Open (4−6, 7–5, 6–4, 1–0, ab.), Arthur Fils gave an explanation that was surprising to say the least.

“I hurt my ankles a few times. And every time when we strap, I know that at some point it will end up hurting. We made a strap that held me a little too tight. Well, I don't know. The further into the match, the more my foot hurt. (…) I have always been unable to stand straps. I know that at some point I will have to take off the strap. I play without an ankle brace. I can't stand anything. It's pretty crazy. We have to find a solution. I can't say much.”regretted the 21e world champion, who had twisted his left ankle during the previous round.
