Present this weekend in Abu Dhabi for the exhibition, World League, where he won in doubles with his new friend, Casper Ruud, Nick Kyrgios gave an exclusive interview Telecom Asia Sport.

An interview during which he was asked to react to the words of Nicolas Mahut, who does not give much of his skin in the event of a duel against Jannik Sinner.

“Nicolas Mahut, at world level, has not broken through like me, so I let it happen. And I don't think the world necessarily cares about what Nicolas Mahut has to say. People like Mahut tell me to be realistic. He was a great doubles player, a Grand Slam champion, no doubt, but he didn't have the career I had in singles. That's probably why he has his opinion. But on the singles court, he never had the conviction that I have, so this opinion means nothing to me. I accomplished more in singles than Mahut could have done in his entire career. It is this belief that differentiates players. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic – they were the greatest because people were defeated before they even set foot on the court with them. I don't want to be that kind of player. I will always stand by my abilities and beliefs. »
