What is your assessment of this 10th edition of the Limoges BLS Open?
Ten years is the time when we can put things into perspective by analyzing the progress we have made. And from this point of view, this edition has I think really confirmed that the Limoges BLS Open is an event well established in the landscape, whether among the general public or economic and social players in the region. The event unites at a time when many subjects are divisive.
Do you feel like you have succeeded in this 10th anniversary, whether on a sporting level or in terms of meetings between partners?
On a sporting level, the initial line-up was magnificent, notably with two seeds listed in the world Top 30, the wild card for Belinda Bencic, the return of Elsa Jacquemot, etc… The vagaries of the circuit and high-level sport have then modified the appearance of the tournament, which, in my opinion, did not alter its interest, particularly with the performances of the young French women, which pleases the public and is also one of the vocations of our Open. And then, we had a high-level final, certainly one of the most beautiful of the decade. We also had the opportunity to celebrate this anniversary with our partners, their guests and an audience of personalities with the “Raquettes d'Or” evening to reward 10 key players of these ten years including Francesca Schiavone who made especially the trip to Varèse with his 16-year-old nugget Lilli Tagger. In the end, it was a slightly stunning edition on the court and full of emotions off it.
