It is the French number 1 Diane Parry who will launch the French BJK Cup team during its play-off against Colombia this weekend. Clara Burel will play next.
Ranked 50th in the world, French No.1 Diane Parry will face Colombian Emiliano Arango (180th) on Saturday to open the BJK Cup play-off between the two countries, according to the draw made on Friday. The match, on open-air clay at an altitude of more than 2,600 m, will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Bogota (5:00 p.m. in France) and will be followed by a second singles match between Clara Burel (74th) and Colombian leader Camila Osorio (63rd), indicates the French Tennis Federation in a press release detailing the outcome of the draw.
Sunday will begin at the same time with a match between the leaders of the two selections, Diane Parry and Camila Osorio, followed by a Burel-Arango duel. The doubles, decisive if the two teams are tied on points after the four singles, will pit the French pair of Varvara Gracheva and Chloé Paquet against the Colombians Yuliana Lizarazo and Maria Paulina Perez. The winner of this play-off will play in the elite of the BJK Cup in 2025, while the loser will play in the lower division of the former Fed Cup.
