In April, the qualifying phases of the National Tennis Cup took place on the Valencian courts. At the end of this tournament, 19 Valencian players qualified to play the final phases in Cap-d’Agde (Hérault), from October 20 to 26.
This tournament brings together all French players qualified by ranking category.
“This is the largest amateur tournament in the world. It brings together around 10,000 participants during the qualifying phases in the clubs, and there will be 1,300 of us during the final phases in Cap-d’Agde,” explains Tony Ledru, president of the club. Valencian.
Among the ladies, Sarah Ledru, Chloé Deville, Agathe Paytau, Floriane Hugon, Manon Baron and Stéphanie Castex are qualified. For the men, we will be represented by Tony Ledru, Timothé Ledru, Fabien Deville, Florian Bongiovanni, Elio Ares, Laurent Ares, Maxime Sauvaget, Abel Delpech, Martin Dauba, Florian Hoppstadter, Frédéric Raffy, Clément Rihet and Michel Tatulli. These players will try to provide their best performances in order to make the colors of Valence-d’Agen shine. In total, 45 people (players and accompanying people) will be traveling to Cap-d’Agde for this tennis week.
Beyond tennis, the week will be enlivened by multiple activities, a mixed doubles tournament and the NT Run which allows players and supporters to run 5 or 10 kilometers for the benefit of Pink October. Last year, several of our players ran for this solidarity cause and we are repeating the experience this year!”
