Three years after ending his career, the former 24e world, Martin Klizan, decided to come out of retirement a few months ago to return to his great passion.
During this period of inactivity on the circuit, the Slovak notably ran for president of the Slovak tennis federation and even entered politics.
Already back at 311e world rank after winning four Futures tournaments between March and May, Martin spoke at length to our Spanish colleagues from Break Point where he notably returned to his duels against Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Two players against whom he won once.
“With Rafa, you know he’s always going to make the match hell for you. There is nothing free. With Novak, you know you have to be very precise with your shots; if you are not, he will destroy you. With Rafa you can fight, but also hit winning shots. With Djoko, it is difficult to make winning shots, but you have to be very precise. You have to use the body serve, mix everything with the slice, the tactics are a little different. »
