Xbox Game Pass is certainly going to have a very good year when we already see the list of upcoming games as well as the persistent rumors about certain upcoming remakes. Among the games that will soon arrive is Atomfall, an FPS with attractive artistic direction which is presented today via a big gameplay video.
Atomfall: a new franchise inspired by real events
Atomfall is developed by Rebellion studio (Sniper Elite), it is a first-person action survival game that immerses players in a post-apocalyptic version of 1960s England.
The story takes place in a quarantine zone located in the fictional Wyndham District, five years after the nuclear disaster inspired by the real Windscale nuclear plant fire in 1957.
However, in Atomfall, the mysteries surrounding this disaster far exceed reality, and players will have to uncover the dark secrets of the atomic plant and the surrounding region in order to hope to survive.
Exploration and discovery at the heart of the game
The game has already had a few videos since its announcement in June 2024, but it’s a big, long video that the developers are offering us today in order to discover more about the world of Atomfall and what it has to offer .
We already knew that the game offered a solo adventure in FPS view and with survival and crafting, but this time we are discovering new facets of the game. From the start of the game, the developers wanted to emphasize exploration and the need to investigate events that have occurred rather than following pre-established quests.
Bandit hideouts, abandoned bunkers, pagan ruins, mysterious messages and secret clues will have to be discovered to understand what could have happened and how the world of Atomfall collapsed.
The eccentric characters and cryptic organizations that populate the quarantine zone are at the heart of this dark mystery. These individuals have been cut off from the outside world for years and left to fend for themselves, and are therefore anything but normal. Your interactions with them are important and will shape your journey. But be careful, they are not all friendly and you will need to familiarize yourself with a range of ranged and melee weapons if you want to survive!
Atomfall is scheduled for release on March 27 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. It will integrate Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass upon launch.
