iOS 18 has been available since last September with the release of the iPhone 16. A few weeks later, an update to iOS 18.1 appeared. Already available in developer beta, iOS 18.2 should soon be made available to all users (early December). This version brings a certain number of new features mentioned in this article, but three other features which have until now gone under the radar have been spotted.

The first concerns the Find My app. This will now give the possibility of sharing the location of your lost device with a contact. For now, the app only allows you to share the location of an AirTag. The sharing link is ephemeral for security reasons and the user can choose to stop sharing the location of their devices at any time.

New features for Find, the camera control button and Apple Intelligence

The second new feature only concerns owners of an iPhone 16, since it is an improvement for the new camera control button. This did not convince all the testers and it is not surprising that Apple corrects things gradually for this function which is still very young and which must mature. In this case, the physical key has a new option automatic exposure and focus lock to be ready to shoot faster.

Still for the camera control button, Apple has integrated an additional speed setting to take into account the double pression. Three options are now available: Default, Slow and Slower.

The latest feature seen in beta allows developers to share what's on screen with Siri, improving Apple Intelligence integration into third-party apps. In , you will have to wait until April 2025 for Apple Intelligence to be available.
