The Xiaomi Watch 2 gets to the point and does it well

The Xiaomi Watch 2 impresses with its sleek design and light weight, weighing just 36.8 grams without the strap. Made of aluminum, it is comfortable on the wrist, even during exercise. The 1.43″ OLED display offers good readability, with a programmable always-on display. The two control buttons simplify use and the standard 22 mm strap is easily replaceable. The watch is also water-resistant (5 ATM certification), ideal for surface swimming, and it offers sports tracking for more than 160 activities, with an impressive battery life of more than 50 hours.

It does have some minor flaws, though. For example, the aluminum material, while lightweight, is more prone to scratches. GPS tracking isn’t always accurate, especially on the track, and the heart rate sensor shows some shortcomings, especially during intense workouts. Finally, while it does allow you to make Bluetooth calls, the sound quality could be improved. Still, it offers one of the best value for money at the moment, so it would be a shame to turn your back on it.

Wireless headphones with solid battery life

Earlier this year, the Xiaomi Buds5 appeared alongside the Redmi Note 13 smartphone and the Redmi Watch 4. They are presented as wireless earphones with a classic design, with an in-ear format reminiscent of the AirPods. The IP54 certification makes them resistant to splashes, sweat and rain. They feature active noise reduction (ANC) that can attenuate up to -46 dB, ideal for noisy environments such as public transport. They also offer a transparency mode with several options, allowing you to adjust the listening according to your needs (voice or ambient sound). Their autonomy is another major asset: up to 10 hours per charge cycle, and a total of 40 hours thanks to the case.

These headphones take advantage of the advanced connectivity of Bluetooth 5.3 and support SBC and AAC codecs. You can enjoy multipoint and connect them to two sources simultaneously. On the audio side, even if they only have one speaker per earpiece, their 12.4 mm transducer promises good bass reproduction and an immersive soundstage. However, the lack of Hi-Res compatibility is a bit of a shame. But for the price, especially in a bundle with the watch, it’s hard to ask for more.
