Now that the PS5 Pro (and its price…) has been unveiled, all eyes are now on the Nintendo Switch 2 which should soon be made known. If Nintendo is still very secretive about its next console, many clues seem to converge in favor of a reveal that would be imminent…

Nintendo Switch 2 design prototype reportedly leaked

Like most gaming consoles that are eagerly awaited by gamers, the Nintendo Switch also has its share of leaks. However, we cannot say that Nintendo is a company that has the unfortunate tendency to say too much, far from it!

Let’s remember that we don’t know anything officially about the console yet. We still don’t know officially if the Kyoto firm plans to call its next console “Nintendo Switch 2”, or if it plans to name it something else.

However, some leaks come from sources that are reliable enough to be taken seriously, such as the one that concerns the thorny issue of backward compatibility of games. According to analysts at Bloomberg there is no doubt about it: The Nintendo Switch 2 will indeed be compatible with first-generation games. Another leak also appeared this week and this time it is the design of the console that has leaked.

The images are accompanied by a brief description in Chinese, translated on Reddit. It says “Switch second generation” and “Switch 2”. Two other pieces of information are consistent with what has been reported in the past: magnetic rails, so that the Joy-Con adhere better to the screen, and an 8-inch screentherefore larger than the current Switch OLED. Information to be taken with a pinch of salt, however, since nothing has been made official by Nintendo to date.

An NVIDIA chip equivalent to that of the PS4 Pro?

Aside from the console’s design, what really interests us at JVTECH are the technical characteristics that Nintendo’s next console could display. Here too, the Japanese manufacturer has remained silent on this subject, but we could legitimately think that Nintendo is continuing its relations with NVIDIA and equipping its next console with a chip from it.

A new leak published on X has just confirmed our assumption.

If this information turns out to be true, The chip that Nintendo’s next console would be equipped with would be the equivalent of that of a PS4 Pro. We would also be entitled to 12 GB of RAM and a storage capacity finally worthy of the name with 256 GB. Thus, 4K and DLSS – a technology specific to NVIDIA – would be there for this next generation of the console, which is not bad since We have clearly been reaching the limits of the current one for some time now. We shouldn’t expect to see a rival to the PS5 Pro either…

Given the number of leaks that we regularly see on social networks, it is clear that the Nintendo Switch 2 is clearly long awaited and the Japanese video game giant should not be long in speaking out in order to make official what needs to be.
