Montreal bakers will be in the spotlight on the M6 show, “The best bakery in France”.
The Pain Des Lys bakery, created in 2017 by Nadine and Christian, located in the former tobacconist on Avenue des Tilleuls, did not expect such enthusiasm from Montrealers and residents of the surrounding villages. This is why we had to quickly change premises to feel less cramped.
Thus, barely two years later, the bakery inaugurated its new premises at 14, avenue des Tilleuls, to offer more products and better opening hours. Christian is a passionate baker who wants to satisfy the needs of customers, and offers a varied choice of traditional breads and special baguettes. The different pastes are made using old methods and with a reduced salt content, less than 16%. Fermentations can be of different durations for even more flavors. The wheat is exclusively French, from local circuits (Aude and Ariège).

Well known in Montreal for several years, Nadine and Christian’s bakery was selected by M6 for its show “The best bakery in France”, special Occitanie. Christian’s know-how no longer needs to be proven in the manufacture of the various breads offered to his customers and, for the competition, he highlighted a bread with legume flours; healthy bread with low gluten and a very low glycemic index. During the visit of Bruno Cormerais (Meilleur Ouvrier de France, baker) and Noémie Honiat (pastry chef) on July 17, the creation of a product, savory or sweet, from the vine and 100% local was imposed. “After consulting the team, we created a mille-feuille with seasonal products as well as the ingredient imposed by Bruno and Noémie,” says Christian. For the friendly bakers, this day of filming for the competition was a great experience, with a showcase of their artisanal know-how, as well as a moment of conviviality and sharing with the entire team of “The best bakery in France Every week, the bakery welcomes the public from Tuesday to Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday morning from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dedicated access facilitates entry for people with reduced mobility.
