“It came one morning like a flash. Didier Viger is very proud of the ambitious project he carries with his two partners: Jean-Sébastien Defarge and Patricia Demets. From mid-February, He will officially open the Domaine des Bruyèreshost residence for the elderly, located at 40 rue des Bruyères in Langon (Gironde), to its first residents. A place that aims to be completely different from traditional nursing homes.

Eight to ten hopeds for

Eight to ten people are hoped for, with a total of eight rooms available. No more, because the three partners want preserve an “intimate and friendly atmosphere”. Couples are hoped for. The design of this project goes in this direction, it was made so that the residents have their own privacy with a personal bathroom and a dressing room for two in some rooms. “We want it to bring life. »»

“They are not just there to watch television”

A life that will not be drear in the field is the watchword of the three partners. “These people must be occupied. I see how it goes for some elderly, when they get bored, they fall sick. Here they are not only there to watch television. In this perspective, at the Domaine des Bruyères, it will be possible to participate in internal activities (gardening, theater or even board games) but also in external events.

Much of this task will be up to Isabelle, a caregiver over 20 years of experience And who did not hesitate to make miles. “He is the ideal person, she was very quickly thrilled by our project. And in addition, she has a stove of a stove, we did not hope for so much (laughs). Isabelle will live in the field and thus provide daily help to the tenants of the field.

Residents will also be free to walk around. Near the building are restaurants, supermarkets or even bucolic paths to walk. “We are also close to the highway. If a resident has a medical appointment in Bordeaux, he can be there in 30 minutes, ”adds Didier Viger.
