Perplexity focuses on daily efficiency with the launch of its AI assistant on Android
The name Perplexity may not mean much to you, but the company is one of a long list of developers of chatbots IA seeking to establish itself in a booming market. Recently, Perplexity stood out as one of the search engines integrated into Arc, the browser that positions itself as a serious competitor to Google Chrome.
Today, Perplexity’s focus is on smartphones. The company announced the launch of its AI assistant on Android. The company adopts a positioning reminiscent of Honor, aiming to create a true personal assistant designed to simplify daily life.

With its assistant, Perplexity is banking on access to real-time information via the Internetallowing it in theory to provide ever more precise answers. To stand out in a sector dominated by giants like ChatGPT, Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, highlights a key functionality: the context of the exchanges.
For example, you could ask for information about a restaurant, its style of cuisine, and follow up directly with a reservation request, without having to specify everything again.
-But the assistant is not limited to finding information. Perplexity claims it can also accomplish varied tasks like booking an Uber or automatically creating reminders for events. Everything is done simply via “the voice, an action button or even a gesture”explains the company.
A competitive market
The challenge for Perplexity now is to emerge in a market dominated by ChatGPT, which has recently enhanced its functionality to offer similar services.
