Google is reportedly working on an alert system indicating the end of charging of the battery of Smart Pair compatible headphones.
Like many Bluetooth earphone users, you probably have a little trouble monitoring the charge level of your earbuds. While some manufacturers add LEDs directly to the case to get a rough idea of the charge level of the headphones, this is unfortunately not always the case.
Generally, there is no other solution than pairing the headphones to the smartphone to be able to access this information. But Google is reportedly preparing a new feature to resolve this problem.
An alert on your smartphone as soon as your headphones are recharged
If Android already has a system capable of warning you when your Fast Pair headphones have no more battery, it does not offer any way of knowing when they are fully recharged. Google is nevertheless in the process of developing a system to fill this gap.
Android Authority, which has made a habit of analyzing the code of Android applications to find upcoming new features, made a discovery along these lines in a recent version of Google Play Services. Several lines of code seem to refer to an alert to indicate the end of charging of the Fast Pair headphones. Concretely, a notification should be displayed on users’ smartphones as soon as the charging case of their headphones reaches 100% of its charge.
This feature is not really new. Google has already integrated it to alert Pixel Watch users on their smartphone when their connected watch has finished charging.
As this new feature is currently still under development, its availability date remains unknown. We will probably have to wait a few more weeks, or even a few months, before seeing it deployed on a large scale.
