The three smartphones take distinct approaches to design, each offering a well-defined visual identity. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G stands out for its flat profiles, with photo sensors integrated on a plate matching the color of the back, giving it a uniform appearance. It is available in black, purple and blue. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 remains faithful to its iconic design with a square housing the photo sensors, located at the top left of the back of the device. Its profiles are slightly rounded and it is available in various colors: black, white, pink, green and blue. Finally, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G opts for a refined style, with photo sensors placed directly on the shell without superfluous contours. It is available in blue, dark blue, lilac and lime (yellow).

In terms of dimensions, the iPhone 16 is the most compact with a height of 147.6 mm, while the Galaxy A55 5G is the widest (77.4 mm) and heaviest (213 g). The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, with its 187 g, offers a good compromise between the two. In terms of thickness, the iPhone 16 stands out for its thinness (7.8 mm) compared to the 8 mm of the Xiaomi and the 8.2 mm of the Samsung.

In terms of waterproof certification, the iPhone 16 is best protected with an IP68 standard, allowing complete immersion. The Galaxy A55 5G follows with IP67 certification, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is limited to splash resistance with its IP54 standard.

Which is the most powerful and which is the best screen?

Under the hood, the three smartphones integrate powerful processors, although from different eras and designs. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, accompanied by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and storage of 256 or 512 GB. This model, however, does not allow this capacity to be expanded via a micro SD card. The iPhone 16 is based on the Apple A18, the latest generation processor, combined with 8 GB of RAM and storage options of 128, 256 or 512 GB, also non-expandable. Finally, the Galaxy A55 5G integrates an Exynos 1480, accompanied by 8 GB of RAM, to which are added 8 GB of virtual RAM, and internal memory of 128 or 256 GB, expandable using a micro SD card.

In terms of raw power, the iPhone 16 is clearly in the lead, thanks to its Apple A18 processor, considered a benchmark in the smartphone market. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G follows, with its Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, efficient for daily use and multitasking. The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, despite its virtual RAM, is slightly behind in terms of raw power.

Each of the models offers an AMOLED screen, but with notable differences. The iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch screen, offering a definition of 1179 x 2556 pixels, a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 2000 cd/m², which guarantees excellent visibility even in full sun. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G offers a slightly larger screen (6.67 inches), with a definition of 1220 x 2712 pixels and a peak brightness of 1800 cd/m², while maintaining a frequency of 120 Hz. Finally, The Galaxy A55 5G has a 6.6-inch screen, with a definition of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a peak brightness more modest 1000 cd/m² and also a frequency of 120 Hz.

What configurations for photos and what connectivity?

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G impresses with its optically stabilized 200-megapixel main sensor, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Its selfie sensor displays 16 megapixels. The iPhone 16, for its part, relies on a 48-megapixel main sensor, optically stabilized, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, offering great versatility. For selfies, it offers a 12-megapixel sensor. Finally, the Galaxy A55 5G is equipped with a 50-megapixel main sensor, also optically stabilized, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 5-megapixel macro sensor, with a 32-megapixel front camera.

All models are 5G compatible and include technologies like Wi-Fi 6 (Wi-Fi 6E for iPhone 16) and NFC. However, only the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and the Galaxy A55 5G have a fingerprint reader integrated under the screen, while the iPhone 16 skips this functionality, preferring Face ID. Concerning the audio jack sockets, only Xiaomi still offers this connection.

What about autonomy and charging capabilities?

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is equipped with a 5100 mAh battery, supporting 67W fast charging, but it does not offer wireless charging. The Galaxy A55 5G, with a slightly lower capacity (5000 mAh), is limited to 25W fast charging, with no wireless charging option. On the other hand, the iPhone 16, although having a smaller battery (3274 mAh), compensates with optimized battery management thanks to iOS and supports 25 W wireless charging.
