Sunday January 19, Macronist candidate Camille Galliard-Minier resoundingly won the partial legislative election in Isère, winning 64.28% of the vote, compared to 35.72% for her opponent from La France insoumise, Lyes Louffok. The latter, an activist committed to the rights of children in care, was unable to mobilize sufficiently in a context of high abstention (38.25% participation).
A 49-year-old lawyer from the district, Camille Galliard-Minier is far from being unknown in this area. Former deputy of Olivier Véran, she had already sat in the National Assembly between 2020 and 2022 when the former Minister of Health was in government. His victory confirms the return of the constituency to the Macronist fold, after having been briefly won by LFI in 2024.

In a press release, La France insoumise expressed its disappointment with this result, while pointing out the low participation rate: “ In a context of strong abstention, a constituency wrested from the right in 2024 by popular mobilization has therefore returned to its traditional representation. » The party also deplored the loss of a strong voice for “the cause of childhood” in the National Assembly.

This election followed the resignation of the outgoing LFI deputy, Hugo Prevost, last October, after being accused of sexist and sexual violence. During the 2024 legislative elections, Prevost narrowly won this constituency thanks to a triangular vote.

In the first round, last Sunday, Lyes Louffok had nevertheless taken a short lead (28.33%) over Camille Galliard-Minier (26.57%), but his score remained well below the performances of Hugo Prevost a year earlier . This insufficient dynamic, combined with historically low participation, allowed Camille Galliard-Minier to win largely in the second round, marking a symbolic defeat for LFI and strengthening the position of the presidential camp.
