In Saas-Fee, in the Swiss Alps, Renggli will only open its doors on January 22, but it already has eyes on it. This hotel offers a very special offer to attract future customers: reserve a double room as many times as desired between January and April, for the sum of 999 Swiss francs (approximately 1,060 euros). It’s the ‘All You Can Sleep’ experience, reports the Daily Gazette.
Finally, it can be done, but under two conditions: a reservation can only be made two days in advance, and for seven days in a row at most, and you must wait at least one day before reserving your next stay. It must be said that the offer is mainly aimed at people who have a flexible schedule.
A German site, specializing in travel deals, has calculated that, depending on the period, the concept is profitable from a stay of around seven nights, compared to the normal rate of a room. The hotel estimates that holders of this subscription could stay between 18 and 20 nights, which would cost around 40 francs per night (around 42 euros), for 18 nights.
A marketing coup, but not only that: “For me, it is above all a test to see how to achieve the maximum occupancy rate of hotels,” confides Daniel Renggli. The hotelier indicates that 50 packages have already been sold. Currently, no dates for the winter season are sold out.
“With our fixed costs for each room, we lose money from the 14th night,” slips Daniel Renggli. So not sure that the formula will still exist next year. The latter could consider such a winter offer for all its mountain hotels, and for a sum of around 3,000 francs (around 3,200 euros). But such a subscription would, on the other hand, not be profitable in summer, because if the occupancy rate increased, the establishment’s operating costs would also increase.
