In Flanders, each general practitioner is required to write a report on their patient during the consultation. The new Ghent start-up Squire wants to reduce this administrative burden.
“If we know that a general practitioner carries out on average 20 to 30 consultations per day, we can imagine that writing these reports takes a lot of time,” explains Stan Callewaert, co-founder of the company.
“Both in Belgium and in Europe, general practitioners often stop consulting to be able to complete their files. These stoppages are due to the fact that general practitioners do not have enough time to take care of all their patients.
“More than a quarter of their time is spent on administration. We want to cut this time in half, so that general practitioners have more time to devote to their patients again,” adds Stan Callewaert.
