Journalist Mark Gurman is getting back into his old habits after this crazy week of CES in Las Vegas. He publishes, like every week, his newsletter at Bloomberg, in which he affirms that Apple has moved a certain number of pawns on its chessboard. In particular, we know more about the future HomePod mini, but also about the iPad 11e generation.

The release of certain products is becoming clearer
While we wrongly imagined that a new “classic” iPad could be under the tree in 2024, we will ultimately have to wait. According to Gurman, these new tablets will have more or less the same design as the iPad 10 (which we tested), launched in 2022. What are the differences then? An A17 Pro chip (inherited from last year’s iPhone 15 Pro) and 8 GB of RAM. Essential prerequisites for the iPad to benefit from Apple Intelligence, which has begun its deployment in the United States and will arrive here in the spring. And, precisely, Gurman assures that the iPad 11 will be launched in March or April 2025. Just like the iPhone SE 4, which could also be called iPhone 16e.
But if the release of the future iPad is no longer far away, that of the HomePod mini 2 and the new Apple TV could be delayed. According to the journalist, the release window for these new connected home products was planned around WWDC 2025, in June. You may have to wait until November. Gurman also specifies that these new products are not part of the new range dedicated to home automation on which Apple is working and which would notably include a connected doorbell.
-A new look for the Apple Watch SE?
Latest prediction from the American journalist: the Apple Watch SE, the most affordable version of Apple’s connected watch, should get a makeover this year.
As usual, this new watch could be presented in September, at the same time as the iPhone 17 and the Apple Watch 11. If we still don’t know what all these beautiful people will be made of, Gurman understands that the Watch SE 3 will be entitled to a “new look”. Which wouldn’t hurt her, as she’s been dragging out the design of the Apple Watch Series 4 for years.
It could also be even more affordable thanks to a plastic chassis and no longer aluminum. Mark Gurman makes an interesting comparison with the design of the iPhone 5c, released a decade ago and which emphasized bright colors and economy. Enough to attract parents who are looking to equip their offspring, no doubt.
Finally, among the other new products expected this year, we obviously don’t forget the MacBook Air M4 as well as the new AirTag.
