January is traditionally Samsung’s hunting ground. Like every year, the world’s leading smartphone manufacturer will announce in a few weeks the launch of its new Galaxy S range, which often kicks off the parade of new models among the competition. Here’s what to expect this year.
The appointment is made for January 22
Samsung has just sent the invitation cards to the press. Its next Galaxy Unpacked conference will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 7 p.m. PST.
An event which, as usual, will be held both in person in San Jose, California and broadcast live on the manufacturer’s website, its YouTube channel and its various social networks.
A conference during which, it is obvious, the new Galaxy S25 will be discussed, but also accessories such as the second generation Galaxy Ring. Rumors also predict that Samsung could launch a mixed reality headset that could compete with the Apple Vision Pro. Busy schedule, then!
What to expect from the Galaxy S25?
After the excellent surprise of the S24 range, and in particular the S24 Ultra model (which we loved), Samsung will have to pull out all the stops to surpass itself.
This year, the South Korean manufacturer’s range should still be made up of a Galaxy S25, a Galaxy S25+ and a Galaxy S25 Ultra… but also a new addition: the Galaxy S25 Slim. A reference which inevitably brings to mind the rumors concerning the iPhone 17 Air and which we can’t wait to discover in detail.
The manufacturer’s new range should also adopt Qualcomm’s latest chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Yes, even in Europe! A welcome change, as we often get models equipped with Exynos chips, which are often less attractive. Finally, on the design side, a priori nothing very new under the sun. Samsung would continue to iterate on the foundations of its previous generations, without revolution. Galaxy AI, on the other hand, should be even more highlighted during the conference. In addition, the Galaxy Unpacked conference should also kick off One UI 7.0, which will allow compatible smartphones to upgrade to Android 15.
