The participatory housing project, supported by the Ecoppidum association, was launched in 2018 and is entering its final phase.

In collaboration with the Ecohabitons association, known for its shared housing initiatives in and its surroundings, Ecoppidum offers to bring together social rental housing, rental-ownership housing and free purchase housing within the same project.

“Mutual aid and conviviality”

Jean-Louis Jacquet, member of Ecohabitons, highlights the originality of this project: “This is the first time that participatory housing combines housing for all, promoting mutual aid and conviviality between residents.

Different housing will be accessible: social rental housing (LLS), rental-ownership housing (PSLA) and free purchase housing. To live together, common spaces are planned such as the multipurpose room, the laundry room, the shared garden, etc.

I myself live in a Fabréco participatory housing facility in Fabrègues and I am convinced of the benefits of participatory housing for everyone.”

Minimum €175,000

The 4,300 m² land, located on the ZAC des Saliniers at the entrance to the village, will accommodate 21 housing units ranging from T2 to T5. Pierre Laurence, member of Ecoppidum and future buyer, reveals some figures: “For an F2 with free access, you need a minimum of €175,000, or €3,535 per m².

Currently, four potential buyers have already been identified, but there are still homes available.”

Concerning social housing, tenants must meet certain conditions and the final allocation will be made by Hérault Logement. For those interested in this initiative, an information meeting will be held on Sunday, January 26 at 2:30 p.m., at the Marius room, located at 5, rue des Lavoirs in Murviel.
