Imagine a phone capable of lasting several weeks without recharging, illuminating a room like a projector, and whose headphones become a smartwatch. These smartphones exist, it is the new range from Oukitel presented at CES.
Known to insiders for its rugged smartphones intended for professionals and enthusiasts of robust devices, the Chinese brand Oukitel has chosen to innovate at CES 2025.
The manufacturer is stepping out of its comfort zone with three smartphones with particularly interesting features.
A brand that emerges from the shadows
Historically specializing in rugged smartphones capable of withstanding extreme conditions, Oukitel retains its DNA of robustness while adding surprising innovations.
The WP100 Titan is the perfect example: it combines the brand’s traditional rugged approach with a built-in 100 lumen video projector.
Its monumental battery of 33 000 mAh capacity – an industry record – recalls Oukitel’s expertise in autonomy, the trademark of its rugged smartphones. 66W fast charging and a powerful 1,200 lumen flashlight complete an adventure-ready package.
The all-in-one smartphone
The WP200 Pro marks an even clearer break with the brand’s usual positioning.
$This smartphone includes removable headphones that transform into a connected watch, creating a second screen when they are inserted into the device.
-An atypical concept for a manufacturer best known for its robust devices. With its 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and 24 GB of RAM, it clearly targets a wider audience than professionals in the field.
The WP300 takes this logic of innovation even further by offering a modular approach, while maintaining the robustness standards specific to Oukitel.
Its 6.8-inch 120 Hz screen, MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor and 12 GB of RAM mark an obvious move upmarket. There is also a battery with a capacity of 16,000 mAh, more than twice the usual capacity. But it is the possibility of adding modules (Bluetooth headphones, additional screen, lighting system) which is surprising.
The entire range benefits from Android 15. If prices and availability dates remain to be confirmed, this new direction could well allow the Chinese manufacturer to exit its niche market.
